Blayzen Ward represented Coalgate High School at the end-of-year celebration and quiz bowl for the School of Choctaw Language on Wednesday, April 30th at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant, Oklahoma.

Below is the bracket for Slow Pitch Regionals that will be played in Silo tomorrow, April 29th. Our girls will play at 11:00 am vs Silo. The cost to get in is $10 cash or online at OSSAA/gofan for $7. Come out and support our Lady Cats as they fight for their spot in the State Tournament!

A special thanks to our school board member Gary Hensley for weathering the rain and cooking hamburgers using local beef. The burgers were delicious as always!

Coalgate FFA Vice President Caden Russell was recently selected to represent southeast Oklahoma for state star in agribusiness! He was judged in front of industry professionals and the results will be announced May 7th at State FFA convention! The Wildcat Golf team competed at the Stringtown Golf tournament today at Atoka Trails Golf Course. They placed 3rd as a team and Koda Wainscott placed 10th individually.

Congratulations to our Coalgate Lady Wildcats. They are 2025 Slow Pitch District Champs. Had wins of 10-0, 9-0, and 10-3! Good job Lady Cats!

The Southeast Oklahoma Library System brought Author Lois Lowry to Coalgate, Oklahoma today for an author talk and book signing. The event was held at the Coalgate High School Gymnasium. Coalgate students in grades 9-12 were in attendance as well as community members and people from across Oklahoma. Coalgate was fortunate to be the first stop on Mrs. Lowry’s 3-stop speaking tour. The first 100 people in attendance were given copies of The Giver which the author signed at the conclusion of the event. Lois Lowry is an American writer. She authored many books for children and young adults, including The Giver Quartet, Number the Stars, the Anastasia series, and Rabble Starkey. She won two Newbery Medals and was the recipient of the 2002 Rhode Island Children’s Book Award.

The Softball Districts have been moved  up to tomorrow, April 22nd and will be played in Antlers starting at 11:00am. Below is the bracket, as well as parking and ticket information.

Caden Russell and Maeson Crow signed with Eastern Oklahoma State College Thursday. They are going to be on the Meat Judging team for Eastern. It’s a great time to be a Wildcat!
